Spiced Apple Bread Pudding

Ingredients
1 package Krusteaz Apple Crisp Mix (1 pouch each crisp topping mix and apple filling)
12 oz (8 cups) stale bread, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1/2 cup raisins, soaked in hot water and drained
3 cups milk or cream
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
4 eggs
2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
5 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
whipped cream or ice cream (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Place bread cubes in lightly greased 13x9x2-inch pan.
- Sprinkle raisins over bread cubes.
- Spoon apple filling over raisin layer.
- In separate bowl, whisk together milk or cream, brown sugar, eggs and pumpkin pie spice until blended.
- Pour milk mixture over bread and apples.
- Let stand 30 minutes to allow time for liquid to be absorbed.
- Place crisp topping mix in medium bowl.
- Cut in butter or margarine using a fork or pastry blender until crumbly.
- Sprinkle topping mixture over bread and apples.
- Bake 50-55 minutes or until topping is golden brown.
- Serve with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired.
