Apricot Danish



1 package Krusteaz Scone Mix

3 tablespoons sugar

1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened

2/3 cup milk

1/4 cup apricot preserves

Vanilla Glaze

1 cup powdered sugar

1 tablespoon warm water

1/4 teaspoon vanilla


  • Preheat oven to 450°F.
  • For Danish: Place scone mix and sugar in medium bowl. Cut in butter or margarine with fork or pastry blender until mixture is crumbly. Add milk and stir until dough forms. Using approximately 1/4 cup dough per Danish, drop dough 3-inches apart onto lightly greased baking sheet. With back of small spoon, make a shallow indentation in center of each Danish. Fill with preserves. Bake 11-13 minutes or until light golden brown.
  • For Vanilla Glaze: In small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, water and vanilla. Drizzle over warm Danish.
  • Variation: Raspberry Almond Danish: Prepare apricot Danish as directed, substituting raspberry preserves for apricot preserves. Prepare vanilla glaze as directed, substituting almond extract for vanilla. Garnish glazed Danish with sliced almonds, if desired.
