1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1 fresh ripe pear, peeled and sliced or 1, 8 1/4 oz can pear halves, sliced and drained
1 package Krusteaz Gingerbread Cake & Cookie Mix
1 cup water
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- For Topping: In medium bowl, blend together brown sugar, butter or margarine and corn syrup. Spoon into a lightly greased 9-inch round cake pan. Arrange pear slices over brown sugar mixture in a decorative pattern. Set aside.
- For Cake: In medium bowl, blend together gingerbread mix, water and egg until moistened. Spoon batter over pears. Bake 32-36 minutes. Invert pan immediately, allowing pan to remain over cake 5-10 minutes.
