Start with: 1 1/2 sticks (3/4 cup) butter, softened (not melted)

Just three easy steps

  1. // Heat oven to 350°F. If necessary, soften cold butter in microwave on HIGH power for 10-15 seconds.
  2. // Stir together butter and cookie mix until dough forms, hand kneading if necessary. Place dough on lightly floured surface; roll to 1/2-inch thickness and cut into 1x3-inch rectangles. Place 1 inch apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Pierce dough with a fork.
  3. // Bake 11-13 minutes or until light golden brown around edges. Cool 5 minutes and remove from pan. Makes 24 cookies. Store cooled cookies in airtight container.

High Altitude: No adjustment necessary.

    1 package Krusteaz Shortbread Cookie Mix

    3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened

    Colored icing, candy or sprinkles for decorating

    1. //Preheat oven to 350°F.
    2. //Place Krusteaz Shortbread Cookie Mix and butter in medium bowl; stir until dough forms. Place dough on lightly floured surface; roll into 1/4-inch thickness. Cut dough using a floured egg-shaped cookie cutter. Place 1-inch apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
    3. //Bake 8-10 minutes or until light golden brown around edges. Cool thoroughly before icing. Decorate cookies with your favorite colored icing, candy or sprinkles.
  • Raspberry Thumbprints


    Prep 15 min Total Time 30 min Servings 24


    1 package Krusteaz Shortbread Cookie Mix

    ¾ cup (1½ sticks) butter, softened

    Raspberry jam

    1. //Preheat oven to 350°F.
    2. //Place Krusteaz Shortbread Cookie Mix and butter in medium bowl; stir until dough forms. Drop dough by rounded tablespoons, 2-inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
    3. //Bake 11-13 minutes or until light golden brown around edges. Immediately press center of cookies with back of spoon. Fill with jam.

Simply put, Krusteaz is the most delicious and easy to use baking mixes you will ever use. Everyone will think you spent hours in the kitchen whipping up these baking delights! The shortbread is one of my favorites!


Just saw the Shortbread Cookie Mix while grocery shopping at Christmas time. I decided to use the Thumbprint Cooking recipe on the back of the box. They tasted just like state fair Scones with jam. My 18 YO son and I fought over the last ones left! I'm looking for more mix.
