Primary Prep, Ingredients & Nutritional Info

Start with: 1/2 cup water, 1/4 cup milk


  1. // Heat oven to 425°F.
  2. // Stir together scone mix, water and milk until dough forms. Turn dough out onto a generously floured surface, coating dough with flour to prevent sticking.
  3. // Divide dough into equal size portions and form each into a circle about 3/4-inch thick as directed. Cut each portion into 4 quarters and place scones on ungreased baking sheet. Let dough rest 10 minutes.
  4. // Bake as directed until light golden brown. Serve scones warm with butter and fruit preserves. For optional glaze, whisk together 1 cup powdered sugar, 2-3 tablespoons milk and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Drizzle over cooled scones.

  1. // Tea Style Scones: Prepare dough as directed. Form dough into four 4-inch diameter circles, about ¾-inch thick. Cut each dough circle into 4 quarters. Bake at 425°F 9-11 minutes or until light golden brown. Makes 16 tea style scones.
  2. // Bakery Style Scones: Prepare dough as directed. Form dough into two 6-inch diameter circles, about ¾-inch thick. Cut each dough circle into 4 quarters. Bake at 425°F 11-13 minutes or until light golden brown. Makes 8 bakery style scones.

     Add 1 tbsp poppy seeds & 1/2 cup sliced almonds. Bake as directed.

    Add 1/2 cup chopped pecans & 1 tsp grated orange peel. Bake as directed. Cool. If desired, ice with vanilla frosting.

    Add 1/2 cup raisins & 1 tsp ground cinnamon. Bake as directed.


    Raspberry Treasure Scones

    Before baking, indent scone dough with a spoon & fill with 1 tbsp raspberry pie filling. Bake as directed.


  • Fruit Strudel

    Prep 30 min Total Time 40 min Servings 10-12


    3 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened

    1/2 cup (4 oz package) cream cheese, softened

    1 package Krusteaz Scone Mix

    1/2 cup milk

    3/4 cup raspberry or blackberry preserves

    1. //Preheat oven to 425°F.
    2. //In medium bowl, blend together butter or margarine and cream cheese. Add Krusteaz Scone Mix and milk. Mix together. Knead dough 5-6 times on a generously floured board. Roll dough to 15x8-inch rectangle. Transfer dough to lightly greased baking sheet.
    3. //On each 15-inch side, cut dough into strips 1-inch apart, 2-inches deep (leaving 4-inches in center). Spread preserves over center of dough. Lift dough strips to cover preserves. Bake 10-12 minutes.
  • Strawberry Shortcakes

    Prep 20 min Total Time 35 min Servings 9


    1 package Krusteaz Scone Mix

    1/2 cup water

    1/4 cup milk


    Whipped cream

    1. //Preheat oven to 425°F.
    2. //In medium bowl, stir together scone mix, water, and milk. Transfer to generously floured surface. Knead dough 5-6 times, folding dough in half on top of itself each time. Roll out dough to approximately 3/4-inch thickness. Cut into 2 1/2-inch circles and place on ungreased baking sheet. Let rest 10 minutes.
    3. //Bake 10-12 minutes or until light golden brown. Split warm shortcakes and serve with sliced strawberries and whipped cream.
