Ingredients: COOKIE DOUGH:; 1 Package Krusteaz Butter Vanilla Sugar Cookie Mix; 1/2 Cup (1 Stick) Butter, softened; 1 Egg; 1/2 Cup All-purpose flour, plus additional flour for rolling out cookie dough; COOKIE ICING:; 1 Cup Powdered sugar; 1 1/2 Tbsp Milk; 1 Tsp Vanilla; Red food coloring

COOKIE DOUGH:

1 Package Krusteaz Butter Vanilla Sugar Cookie Mix

1/2 Cup (1 Stick) Butter, softened

1 Egg

1/2 Cup All-purpose flour, plus additional flour for rolling out cookie dough

COOKIE ICING:

1 Cup Powdered sugar

1 1/2 Tbsp Milk

1 Tsp Vanilla

Red food coloring

STEP 1

Preheat oven to 350°F.

STEP 2

Cookie Dough: In medium bowl, stir together butter, egg, Krusteaz Butter Vanilla Sugar Cookie Mix and ½ cup flour until dough forms, hand kneading if necessary. Place dough on lightly floured surface; roll to ¼-inch thickness. Cut dough using a floured heart-shaped cookie cutter. Place 1-inch apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.

STEP 3

Bake 8-11 minutes or until light golden brown around edges. Cool thoroughly before icing and decorating cookies.

STEP 4

Cookie Icing: Place sugar, milk and vanilla in a bowl; stir until smooth. Add drops of red food coloring to tint icing to desired color. Ice the tops of cookies; place a second cookie on top of each to make sandwich cookies. Makes 12-15 sandwich cookies depending on size of cookie cutter.
