Krusteaz mixes are developed based on research into what’s most important to our consumers, what’s trending in the marketplace and food world, and what best complements our baking heritage while adding modernity to our line of products. Our food scientists formulate, test, and reformulate to ensure that our products are relevant, authentic and the best they can be. 

We know that you don’t just want a tasty, convenient mix at a great value. You want to feel good about serving Krusteaz mixes to your family and friends. We’ve been working to maximize the use of natural ingredients, revisiting some of our classic mixes to maintain their great taste and meet your high standards.

One of our scientists, Briana, set out to revamp our Wild Blueberry Muffin Mix, Protein Flapjack & Waffle Mix and Honey Cornbread & Muffin Mix. She removed every nonessential ingredient and reformulated the mixes without artificial flavors, colors or preservatives, going through dozens of iterations and rigorous testing panels before being satisfied that the end products met both our and our consumers’ standards.

Our Wild Blueberry Muffin Mix includes a can of wild blueberries packed in water only. Our Honey Cornbread & Muffin Mix is made with yellow cornmeal and real honey. Our Protein Flapjack & Waffle Mix is made with all whole-wheat flour, whey and wheat protein, less sugar and more fiber than our previous version for a classically delicious pancake that packs a significant protein punch. Talk about a great way to start the day!

Adunni, another of our scientists, was tasked with taking our Meyer Lemon Bar Mix (already totally delicious, if we do say so ourselves) to the next level. Rethinking everything, from the texture of the filling and crust, the lemon flavor and how our consumers think about lemon -- should it be sweet and sunshine-y? tart and tangy? -- Adunni was able to perfect the bar, achieving a tarter flavor, firmer filling and a buttery, flaky crust. You definitely want to give this bar a go!

Our Meyer Lemon Pound Cake Mix was also reevaluated. Scientist Trey took on this project, utilizing natural Meyer lemon flavor to create a more aromatic and flavorful cake with all the sweet, buttery richness and delicate crumb that a pound cake should have.
