Start with: 1 egg, 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter or margarine, softened

Just three easy steps

  1. // Heat oven to 350°F. If necessary, soften cold butter in microwave on HIGH power for 10-15 seconds. For best results, do not melt butter.
  2. // Stir together egg, butter and cookie mix until dough forms, hand kneading if necessary. Scoop dough according to desired cookie size and place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  3. // Bake as directed or until light golden brown around edges. Cool 5 minutes and remove from pan. Store cooled cookies in airtight container.

High Altitude (over 5,000 feet): Prepare cutout or drop cookies as directed, adding 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour.

    6 tablespoons butter, softened

    1 package Krusteaz Gingerbread Cookie Mix

    1. //Preheat oven to 350°F.
    2. //Stir together egg, butter and Krusteaz Gingerbread Cookie Mix until dough forms, hand kneading if necessary. Dough may be sticky. For easier handling, cover and refrigerate the dough for 15 minutes.
    3. //Transfer dough to a floured surface and roll to ¼-inch thickness. Cut to desired shapes with a floured 3-inch cookie cutter. Place 1 inch apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
    4. //Bake 7-9 minutes or until light golden brown around edges. Cool cookies 5 minutes before removing from cookie sheet. Decorate cookies, if desired.
  • Gingerbread Cake

    1 package Krusteaz Gingerbread Cookie Mix

    1 cup water

    1/4 cup vegetable oil

    2 eggs

    1. //Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease 13x9x2-inch pan.
    2. //In medium bowl, blend together Krusteaz Gingerbread Cookie Mix, water, oil and eggs until moistened. Spoon batter into prepared pan.
    3. //Bake 23-27 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
  • Gingerbread Waffles with Cream Cheese Icing


    Prep 7 min Total Time 27 min Servings 8-10 waffles


    1 package Krusteaz Gingerbread Cookie Mix

    1/2 cup water

    1/4 cup vegetable oil

    2 large eggs

    1 cup whipped cream cheese, or regular cream cheese at room temperature

    2 tablespoons honey

    1. //Preheat waffle iron.
    2. //In a bowl, combine Krusteaz Gingerbread Cookie Mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs and mix well. Allow batter to sit 5-10 minutes to thicken. Pour batter into greased waffle iron, filling according to manufacturer’s directions.
    3. //Cook for 5-6 minutes until golden, or follow manufacturer’s directions. Remove to a cooling rack. Waffles will crisp as they cool.
    4. //In a small bowl, combine the cream cheese and honey, and serve with the waffles.
  • Molasses Crinkle Cookies


    Prep 20 min Total Time 30 min Servings 24 cookies


    1 package Krusteaz Gingerbread Cookie Mix

    ½ cup (1 stick) butter, softened

    1 egg

    1 tablespoon molasses

    3 tablespoons sugar

    1. //Preheat oven to 350°F.
    2. //Place Krusteaz Gingerbread Cookie Mix, butter, egg and molasses in medium bowl. Stir until dough forms. Place sugar in small bowl, coat rounded tablespoon dough with sugar. Drop dough 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
    3. //Bake 8-10 minutes or until light golden brown around edges.

I usually don't like using mixes (prefer to make from scratch myself) but I was pressed for time last year so decided to buy them and try them. (I love Krusteaz corn bread) This mix made the best gingerbread cookies I've ever had! I made them, cut them out and my husband decorated all of them. They were a big hit with the family. There weren't any left! I'm disappointed that I was unable to find it this year in the stores.
