Candied Pecan Thumbprints

Ingredients

Cookies:

1 package Krusteaz Snickerdoodle Cookie Mix (1 pouch each cookie mix and cinnamon-sugar topping)

1/3 cup butter, softened

1 egg

2 tablespoons orange zest

Candied Nuts:

1/2 cup pecan pieces

2 tablespoons butter

  1. // Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. // For Cookies: In medium bowl, stir together Krusteaz Snickerdoodle Cookie Mix, butter, egg and orange zest until dough forms. Scoop dough by rounded tablespoons and place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  3. // Bake 8-10 minutes. While cookies are warm, make small thumbprint using back of spoon.
  4. // For Candied Nuts: In medium size skillet, melt butter; add pecans and cinnamon-sugar topping (enclosed). Cook 2-4 minutes or until nuts are candied. Immediately top cookies with nuts.
