  2. // MEASURE mix by lightly spooning it into measuring cup and leveling it off. WHISK waffle mix, water, egg(s) and oil until smooth. Let batter stand 2 minutes. POUR about 2/3 cup batter onto waffle iron.
  3. // COOK waffles until steaming stops or until golden brown.

High Altitude: No adjustment necessary. Do not eat raw batter.

  • Apple Spice Waffles

    Decrease water to 1 cup & add 1 cup applesauce, 3/4 tsp cinnamon & 1/4 tsp nutmeg to batter for 3 cups mix used.

    Add 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips to batter for 3 cups mix used. Serve with vanilla ice cream & chocolate syrup, if desired.

    Lemon Buttermilk Waffles

    Add 2 tsp finely grated lemon zest & 1/4 cup buttermilk. Garnish with whipped cream, lemon zest & fresh blueberries.

    Add 1/3 cup chopped pecans to batter for each cup of mix. Stir batter before pouring on iron, nuts may sink.

    Ingredients

    3 cups Krusteaz Belgian Waffle Mix

    2 eggs

    1/3 cup oil

    1 1/2 cups water

    2 teaspoons sugar

    4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa

    1. //Heat and lightly grease Belgian or conventional waffle iron.
    2. //In medium bowl, blend together Krusteaz Belgian Waffle Mix, eggs, oil, water, sugar and cocoa with a wire whip. Batter will be slightly lumpy. Pour batter onto prepared waffle iron.

    3 cups Krusteaz Belgian Waffle Mix

    1 1/2 cups water

    2 eggs

    1/3 cup oil

    1 tablespoon fresh sage, finely chopped

    1 tablespoon chives, finely chopped

    1/2 teaspoon black pepper

    1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese

    Crisp, cooked bacon (optional)

    1. //Heat and lightly grease Belgian or conventional waffle iron.
    2. //In medium bowl, blend together Krusteaz Belgian Waffle Mix, eggs, oil, water and spices. Fold in cheese. Pour batter onto prepared waffle iron.

  • Chocolate Valentine Waffles

    Prep 5 min Total Time 20 min Servings 4-5 waffles

    Ingredients

    3 cups Krusteaz Belgian Waffle Mix

    1 1/3 cups water

    2 eggs

    1/3 cup vegetable oil

    2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa

    1. //Heat and lightly grease Belgian or conventional waffle iron.
    2. //Stir Krusteaz Belgian Waffle Mix, water, eggs, oil and cocoa powder together with a wire whisk until smooth. Let batter stand 2 minutes. Using a heart-shaped waffle maker, pour about batter onto waffle iron.
    3. //Cook waffles 3-4 minutes until golden brown (or follow waffle iron manufacturer’s cooking instructions). Garnish with whipped cream, shaved chocolate and sliced fresh strawberries.
  • Lemon Creme Waffles

    Waffles:

    2 eggs

    1/3 cup oil

    Waffles:

    3 cups Krusteaz Belgian Waffle Mix

    2 eggs

    1/3 cup oil

    1 1/2 cups water

    Topping:

    2/3 cup packed brown sugar

    1 cup chopped pecans

    1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened

    Vanilla ice cream

    1. //Heat and lightly grease Belgian or conventional waffle iron.
    2. //For Waffles: In medium bowl, blend together Krusteaz Belgian Waffle Mix, eggs, oil and water with a wire whip. Batter will be slightly lumpy. Pour batter onto prepared waffle iron.

    Ingredients

    2 1/2 cups Krusteaz Belgian Waffle Mix

    2 eggs

    1/2 cup cornmeal

    1 1/2 cups water

    1/3 cup oil

    1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

    1 tablespoon chives, finely chopped

    1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese

    1/4 cup black beans, drained

    Salsa, optional

    Cooked chorizo, optional

    1. //Heat and lightly grease Belgian or conventional waffle iron.
    2. //In medium bowl, blend together Krusteaz Belgian Waffle Mix, eggs, cornmeal, oil, water and spices. Fold in cheese and beans. Pour batter onto prepared waffle iron.
    3. //Cook 4 minutes until griddle stops steaming, or according to waffle iron directions. Serve with salsa and crumbled cooked chorizo, if desired.
