Homemade Mini Corndogs

A batch of Homemade Mini Corndogs on a serving platter paired with three different dipping sauces.

(8) 4 mini dogs each
8 oz Krusteaz Buttermilk Pancake Mix
½ cup cornmeal
½ teaspoon dry mustard
½ teaspoon paprika
10 oz (1 1/8 cup) cold water
1 (14 oz) package Mini weenie dogs
Oil, for frying
STEP 1

In medium bowl, combine pancake mix, cornmeal, dry mustard and paprika. Whisk in cold water until well-blended.

STEP 2

Dry mini weenie dogs on paper towel. Insert wooden skewer into dried weenie dogs.

STEP 3

Dip mini weenie dogs into batter, covering completely. Hold dipped weenie dogs over batter and allow excess to drip off end, about 2-3 seconds.

STEP 4

Drop battered weenie dog (sliding off skewer) into hot oil (350°F - 375°F) and fry 2 – 2 ½ minutes or until lightly brown. Drain. Serve immediately.
